Old-City Food Walk
The Banarasi breakfast trail — kachori-jalebi to Blue Lassi — walked with a host who actually knows which lane, which counter, and which hour.

Varanasi eats breakfast like a ritual: crisp kachori with spiced aloo, jalebi straight from the kadhai, thick lassi in a clay cup, and malaiyo in the winter months. The famous spots are real — but so are the tourist traps beside them, and the difference is knowing the lane.
We walk you through Kachori Gali and around Godowlia with a host who orders in the local tongue and knows the day’s freshest counters. It is a short, flat loop from our door, done before the crowds and the heat, and pure-vegetarian throughout in keeping with the old city.
Ask our front desk for the morning’s best stops — the line-up shifts with the season and the day.
