Varanasi from Delhi: How to Reach Kashi Vishwanath

Planning a Kashi Vishwanath darshan from Delhi? Varanasi is about 800 km east, reachable by an easy overnight train or a short 1.5-hour flight.

By train

Roughly 8–14 hours depending on the train — the Vande Bharat is the fastest, while overnight expresses (e.g. Shiv Ganga, Kashi Vishwanath) let you sleep through the journey.

By air

About 1 hour 35 minutes direct to Varanasi (VNS), with frequent daily flights.

Delhi has the widest choice of connections to Varanasi of any city — multiple daily flights plus a dense train timetable including a same-day Vande Bharat. For a weekend darshan, fly in Friday evening and out Sunday night; for a slower trip, take an overnight sleeper both ways.

From either the airport or Banaras Junction, it is a 20–60 minute drive to Godowlia, from where our team guides you the final pedestrian stretch to Gate No. 4 — where we sit directly opposite the temple.

Suggested plan

  • 1.Day 1: Arrive, settle in opposite Gate No. 4, evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh (8-minute walk).
  • 2.Day 2: Pre-dawn Mangala Aarti darshan, Annapurna Devi, breakfast, sunrise boat ride; afternoon in Godowlia for Banarasi silk.
  • 3.Day 3: Half-day to Sarnath, then depart.

Train and flight timings vary by season and day — always confirm on IRCTC or with the airline before booking.

Land, and you are already there.

We are opposite Gate No. 4 and arrange airport/station pickup — our team confirms your booking by phone.
