Varanasi from Mumbai: How to Reach Kashi Vishwanath

From Mumbai, a Kashi Vishwanath pilgrimage is most practical by air — Varanasi is roughly 1,500 km away, about a 2-hour direct flight.

By train

A long haul of roughly 26–28 hours (e.g. via the Mahanagari route) — best suited to travellers who enjoy the train journey itself.

By air

About 2 hours direct to Varanasi, with several daily flights.

Given the distance, most Mumbai travellers fly both ways and keep the train for a one-way experience if time allows. A 3-night trip comfortably covers darshan, the ghats and Sarnath.

We arrange airport pickup from VNS (about a 45–60 minute drive) so your first and last miles are sorted — the corridor is pedestrianised, and we help with the short final walk to our door.

Suggested plan

  • 1.Day 1: Fly in, airport pickup, evening Ganga Aarti (walk or boat).
  • 2.Day 2: Early darshan at Kashi Vishwanath, ghat walk from Assi to Manikarnika, evening rooftop rest.
  • 3.Day 3: Sarnath half-day; depart in the evening.

Train and flight timings vary by season and day — always confirm on IRCTC or with the airline before booking.

Land, and you are already there.
