Dashashwamedh Ghat — How Far from Kashi Vishwanath Temple?

Dashashwamedh Ghat — home of the grand evening Ganga Aarti — is about 700 metres from Kashi King Luxury Stay, an 8-to-10-minute walk.

Evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Varanasi

Getting there

An 8–10 minute walk down through Godowlia.

The nightly Ganga Aarti here is the image most travellers carry home: seven priests, brass lamps, conch and bell in synchrony at dusk. Being a short flat walk away, you can leave after an early dinner and still find a good vantage point.

For the best experience many guests take a shared or private boat from an adjacent ghat to watch the aarti from the water — we can arrange this at reception.

Local tip

Aarti begins around 6:45–7:00 PM in winter and later in summer; arrive 45 minutes early for a front stair seat, or watch from a boat to avoid the crush.

Stay this close to it all.
