Getting there
Roughly an 8-minute walk along the riverfront lanes.
Manikarnika is a place of profound significance in the Hindu understanding of death and liberation (moksha). We ask guests to visit respectfully: it is an active cremation ground, not a photo stop.
Its nearness lets you experience the ghat at a quiet hour and return, rather than joining a rushed group circuit.
Local tip
Photography of pyres is prohibited and disrespectful. If offered a paid “tour” by a stranger promising a rooftop view, decline politely — scams are common here.
Stay this close to it all.
We are directly opposite Gate No. 4 — our team confirms your booking by phone.
