Varanasi from Chennai: How to Reach Kashi Vishwanath

Chennai pilgrims reach Kashi Vishwanath in under 3 hours by air — Varanasi lies roughly 1,900 km north.

By train

Around 32–36 hours — the direct trains are famous among pilgrims but demand time; flying is faster.

By air

About 2 hours 40 minutes direct to Varanasi.

There is a strong South-Indian pilgrimage tradition to Kashi, and direct trains run, but at 1.5 days each way most travellers now fly and save the time for darshan.

We are happy to arrange South-Indian meal preferences on request and help plan a Kashi–Prayagraj–Ayodhya circuit if you have extra days.

Suggested plan

  • 1.Day 1: Fly in, airport pickup, evening aarti.
  • 2.Day 2: Dawn darshan and boat ride; rest; Sarnath in the afternoon.
  • 3.Day 3: Optional day trip to Prayagraj; depart.

Train and flight timings vary by season and day — always confirm on IRCTC or with the airline before booking.

Land, and you are already there.

We are opposite Gate No. 4 and arrange airport/station pickup — our team confirms your booking by phone.
